Help Family Pay Cobra Payment

Donation protected
Brandy (Paxson) Sahadeo is a dear friend of mine and has been for the past 25 years. Many of my FB friends know her from high school at Glendale and know what a great person she is. She was married almost two years ago to DJ and it was the completion of her family for this divorced mom of three teenage kids, one of which suffers from chronic medical issues to include epilepsy and Kiari Syndrome. Brandy herself is a not one time but TWO time cancer survivor herself!
She has recently been plagued with her own chronic health issues that are now being sorted out my the team at the Mayo Clinic. She is still undergoing testing and the team is searching for answers for her extremely elevated blood pressure-which is causing significant pulmonary strain- as well as severe respitory issues, chest pain and now excruciating nerve pain in her hip and leg joints. She is unable to work and the family was relying soley on her husbands job for bills plus the added medical and travel expenses. All medical avenues outside of Mayo have turned up no diagnosis or avenue to get her back on track to be able to function and go back to work. Brandy has ALWAYS worked, most times more than one job, and NEVER relied on state assistance to care for her family.
While at Mayo this week for a second round of testing and evaluations this week, the news has come that her husband has lost his job and, with that, the families health coverage. They are uninsured as of Monday (August 31) and obviously cannot pay out of pocket for her treatment at Mayo as of Tuesday. She can qualify for Medicaid through the state, but it will not cover the rest of her treatment at Mayo that she needs in order to get answers and get back to normal.
Medications alone at this point-9 daily meds with $900 in copays alone per month. This cost at least quadruples after Monday with no insurance.
I am asking those who know her...maybe even those who don't...to assist. The goal is to pay the $1500 COBRA payment for the month of September so she can complete her evals and testing at Mayo. Hopefully by the end of September DJ will have secured a job (which he is desperately running around trying to do) or her treatment at Mayo will at least be complete and she can deal with Medicaid etc then. We all need a little help sometimes...and this is this families time!
