90% of individuals that are diagnosed with breast cancer undergo reconstructive surgery. The majority of these individuals leave the hospital post-surgery without areolas or nipples. At Daizies, we are dedicated to changing this alarming reality.
These cancer survivors deserve to be complete. That’s why we step in and finish what the doctor started. We recreate areolas/nipples for our patients. At Daizies we do a little thing that makes a big difference.
The mission of Daizies is making each person who has gone through a breast reconstructive procedure to feel complete. It’s about being a whole person, on the inside and out.
Did you know that in 2015 it's estimated that there will be approximately 231,000 cases of breast cancer in women?
Did you know that in 2015 it's estimated that there will be approximately 3,000 cases of breast cancer in men?
So here's the astonishing statistic... after an individual completes the reconstructive surgery process, the majority of individuals do not have areolas or nipples. They don't look "complete" and they don't feel "complete".
Worse, insurance companies in the state of Florida do not cover reconstruction for the areola or nipple.
The cost of reconstructing the areola/nipple for breast cancer patients is typically cost prohibitive, leaving many cancer survivors without them.
