Ian MacKenzie's Family

Family & Friends of Ian MacKenzie:

My name is Jackie and I have been blessed to have known the  MacKenzie's for the past 17 years.  I love this family and I am sure those of you who have come to know the MacKenzie's probably feel the same way. As you all know, Ian and Lana are devoted parents who are always in good spirits, always doing what they can to be active participants in their children's lives and that of their community. Ian and Lana both love their jobs and take great passion in what they do. With everything that has transpired since Ian's hospitalization, this family remains strong and faithful that God will pull them through.

The MacKenzie family has gone through a lot in the last 1.5 months. Ian went into an induced coma as a result of a deadly staph infection with a 25% survival rate. Through God's grace and mercy, he made it and was released from the hospital after a month. Ian is now faced with the likelihood of partial amputation on both feet and hands.

I wanted to put this fundraiser together because as a past caregiver to my own family member, I know first hand what kind of stress families go through when they are broadsided with an unexpected life event. You come to appreciate any help you can get whether it be taking out the trash, washing the dishes, watering the lawn, cooking and cleaning...the things that will fall to the waste side because you are taxed.

Lana has a big job ahead - care for Ian and her three children, hold down a job, shuttle her kids back and forth to practice, cook and clean while trying to maintain a level of normalcy for all. That's quite a lot for ONE person to handle so I am asking for everyone's assistance to help make life a little easier for the MacKenzie's as they will be faced with the day to day challenges, medical expenses, etc... 

I also ask that you include the MacKenzie's in your daily prayers as you ask the Lord to provide His love, protection and mercy during this difficult time.
