Help unschooling-with-autism family
Donation protected
Mim and Bill Mason and their boys Owen and Ethan are local unchoolers, longtime attendees and volunteers at LIFE Is a Good unschooling conference, and Vancouver, Washington community members.
Because of the tremendous medical care induced financial strain of living with autism and chronic illness, the Mason family is used to living simply and cutting corners, but this past weekend, the expenses came crashing in with their only family car breaking down and needing over $3,500 in repairs.
To make matters ridiculously worse, they came home from the conference at the end of Saturday (no hotel room due to finances) to a 50 gallon flood all over their living room from a pet tank failure. More expenses.
Without repairs, they will be carless, which is much harder to do in Vancouver than in some towns, and nearly impossible with the health challenges they face daily.
if you attended LIFE is good this past weekend, you might have seen or participated in the pet food and supply drive, coordinated by Mim and Owen. Whether you donated pet supplies or not, please consider donating now to these humans who care deeply about animals, each other, and the world. Any amount helps!
if 15 people donate $10, the rental car charges will be covered
if 15 people donate $35, the initial repairs to get the car driving again will be covered
anything further raised will go toward the transmission replacement the car sorely needs to prevent another future expensive breakdown, and toward the fees charged for credit card processing on this campaign.
