Visioning Day

Homes for Families is a non-profit organization that works to educate and empower families overcoming homelessness and shelter providers to advocate for improved policies that impact them most.

Every year, HFF hosts Visioning Day- an event for families, shelter providers, and community members to come together to reflect on the past fiscal year and plan for the next. We collectively vote on the funding and program issues that we will prioritize in our advocacy efforts. This is where we begin to change the game. 

This is a free event, and a growing event. Last year, we had over 300 attendees, and 50% of those attendees were families overcoming homelessness. The rest were shelter and service providers, and other key stakeholders. We offer free childcare, breakfast, lunch, and transportation reimbursement to families and others in need of financial aid.

This event is a critial part of how HFF works to raise the voice of those overcoming homelessness- a necessary step in ensuring low-income families have a role in the policy making process.
