Fund for the Victims of Dr. Fata

Donation protected
This fund is being created to assist the victims of Dr. Fata, to help recompense for their treatment expenses, and for their loss of current and future earnings due to criminal misdiagnosis and unneeded chemotherapy.

Dr. Fata was arrested and jailed for 45 years on Friday, July 10th 2015,  for poisoning over 500 victims, most who never actually had cancer, by administering over 2,000 unnecessary chemotherapy treatments.

Fata owned and operated Michigan Hematology Oncology Centers with offices in Clarkston, Bloomfield Hills, Lapeer, Sterling Heights, Troy and Oak Park.  He admitted to lying to his patients to collect payments from both them and their insurance companies, while giving them unnecessary and often debilitating chemotherapy drugs.

Many of his patients now suffer from life threatening chronic illnesses, due to exposure to the dangerous and unnecessary chemotherapy treatments.  Some even died from his abusive practice.   In addition to the patients, many other family members have also been affected in providing aid and support to their loved ones.

Fata collected nearly $35 million dollars from insurance and patients payments, and although he has agreed to turn over $17.6 million, it may take years before any money is awarded through litigation.

In addition, it appears doubtful that the victims will be able to receive any compensation from the doctor’s assets, as the government has claimed Medicare is owed $34 million, which doesn’t include private insurance companies that were bilked, such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan.
