I finally had a moment to...

I finally had a moment to sit down and read some of the AMAZING comments regarding Steve.
I want to thank you all for your more than gracious donations.
Steve did not have a life insurance policy...this fund raiser will help us more than any of you could quite possibly understand.
I am thankful for each and every one of you!

HUGS!
Love,
MJ and Xander

This page is set up to raise funds and ease the burden on Steve's wife, son, and step-daughter.

Steve was a devoted husband, loving father, a good friend, and beloved by everyone that had the chance to know him as a person. He left us all way too early and will be deeply missed.

We reached our first goal of $5000 in the first 8hrs. The goal was increased to $20,000 and we broke that in 22hrs!

A message form MJ Carlesi:

"There are no words to express my gratitude to everyone who has reached out to me to give their condolences. I have not gotten to the hundreds of emails, the 100 posts on my wall and the hundreds of posts on Steve C 's wall yet but I have been browsing over them until I am overtaken by tears.
Thank you just doesn't seem like enough. It's been a rough 5 days but the support has been beyond amazing and I only wish Steve knew how many of you loved him before he left us.
I hope to be able to reply to each and everyone of you...but please be patient.
ALSO, I want to send a HUUUUUUGE thank you (again, not sufficient wording) to The Opie and Anthony Show on Sirius XM. Erik texted me what you guys have donated and I cannot stop bawling.
I am beyond touched.

If anyone out there has appropriate wording that I can use to thank you all, please suggest it to me because you have all, for the first time in my life, left me speechless. While I am the saddest person in the world right now, I am also the most fortunate person in the world to have you all!"

Would you mind if I mentioned this to a devout group of bariatric/stapling community. Obesityhelp.com. It is an amazing group of people who have gone through similar procedures, problems, after effects and the like. It is filled with caring people. I ask only because Steve and I discussed this procedure many times at WNEW, even before he had it. I would like to be able to share not the tragedy, but the success of who Steve is. It is your decision and if you want, as I do not know much, please e-mail with anything you would like to say. Relatedly, even though we never met, I saw the picture of Steve on Facebook when we friended each other and was like, wow, this man is truly in love with this woman, big time. You do not see many men especially a mans man, like Steve, posting pictures of affection and love. It always made me smile. God Bless you and your family.

Worked with Steve and Ben a lot back in the days of the AOTM. Steve was a standup guy and a great talent. RIP.

I never got the opportunity to meet Steve, but nevertheless I offer my deepest condolences and prayers to M.J., the children, and the rest of the Carlesi family in your time of greif. God bless.

Steve was such a genuinely nice guy. That came thru when he was on the show. He could take such abuse from the guys, but took it all with grace and a lot of laughter. It is strange to feel sadness for someone you never met, but we all felt like we knew Steve, and loved the fact that he made us all laugh! God bless and rest in peace friend...

I loved when Steve was on O&A. He always seemed to be the kindest and nicest guy. Shame that he is gone.

Steve was amazing. I love every Worst of O&A that involves him. And I miss him on the show. My thoughts go out to his Wife and Son.

Such a horrible loss for the family. Steve made some unforgettable contributions to the O&A show that will never go stale

Listening to Opie and Anthony (as far back as the WNEW days) in my car has kept me from installing a machine gun on the roof of my car to annihilate any cars in front of me in God-awful Long Island traffic. Steve C definitely had a big part in my enjoyment of the O & A show. Cheers.

All of us in radio/tv share in a common bond, I hope Steve's son knows how great a guy his Dad was. Foundry provided all of us with tons of laughs and was truly innovative for its time. RIP Steve

Tragedy is an overused word, but this is truly tragic. I wish I could give more... I never met him, but his work made him a part of my life. His pure heart showed through everything he did. God bless his son and step-daughter, and his wife MJ.
