Brenda's Cozy Little House Fund

Donation protected
My name is Doreen and I'm creating this GoFundMe account on behalf of a friend.

A friend I've never met.

Allow me to explain.

About three years ago I stumbled upon Brenda's blog,  'Cozy Little House' .  Like many home and garden blogs, Brenda provided practical and useful advice.  But her blog was different. Brenda's writing was compelling, and went far beyond what one might expect from a home and garden blog. So much so that after discovering it I spent the next two weeks reading EVERY. SINGLE. POST...all 500+ of them...something I had never done before nor since.

Brenda's life, one which she shares openly, reads like a novel and is proof positive that truth is stranger than fiction.  She writes from the heart and shares her unbelievable true-life stories with her readers. By doing so, she has helped many come out of darkness and depression.

As a baby, she was sold by her mother and raised in less than ideal circumstances. She spent her youth with families that didn't want her. She found herself pregnant, alone, and nearly homeless at 17, but somehow managed to fight her way out of what seemed like a hopeless situation.

But, she always felt she was 'different' from other children and adults. Until recently, didn't know why.

Finally, at the age of 58, she was diagnosed with Asperger's. It was a revelation for her to finally discover why she was uncomfortable in situations that others seemed perfectly at ease. Crowds, noise...even everyday circumstances that most of us don't give a second thought to, create a great deal of stress for her.

Recently a dishonest blogger overseas somehow stole Brenda's blog URL, diverting her traffic, which greatly affected her blogging income from her advertisers. She is currently living on her small savings and a modest amount of money from her ex-husband, who is in very poor health. If he dies, she will no longer receive that monthly stipend, and surely will be in dire straits.

It has always been Brenda's dream to have a small home of her own, and I, along with her loyal readers, would like nothing more than to see that happen.

Brenda is a fighter and a survivor. She continually picks herself up and goes forward, despite the tremendous obstacles in her way. Now it's time for us to lessen her burden and remove some of those obstacles as best we can.

Without fail, she provides her readers with daily inspiration, tips and advice for living a frugal life. She has always given to those in need. Now it's time for her to receive.

I set the bar high because I would love to see Brenda have enough money to not only buy a small house, but have a little left to tide her over. She's a proud woman, and would never ask for anything on her own, which is why I've taken it upon myself to do this.

Everyone deserves to feel safe. To have a home of their own and not worry about what tomorrow may bring. Most of us would have caved beneath the pressure of the hand Brenda was dealt. I know I would have.

If she doesn't receive help, I don't know what will happen. What I do know is she deserves some peace and support. Imagine this could be your mother, your sister, your daughter, or yourself.

Now click on that 'donate' button and give what you can. Do it now.

Any amount, large or small, is needed and appreciated more than words can say.

On behalf of Brenda, thank you!
