Jerrod's medical & living expenses

Donation protected
This is for my son, Jerrod.  He is a firefighter/paramedic.  He was working as a paramedic in March 2015 when he was injured while using an accepted lifting technique to lift a patient.  He tore a tendon in his shoulder (the one that controls stability in the arm).  A very painful injury.  He was sent to a workmen comp doctor (orthopedic surgeon) and to physical therapy, with a posibility of surgery pending.  Three weeks into treatment he was sent a notice of dispute from workmens comp and all benefits stopped.  This is legal in the state of Michigan and is called the "starve out method".  He has obtained an attorney.  It could be up to a year for benefits to be reinstated.  After a few weeks of partial pay and then nothing, his savings has run out.  Unfortunately, he was working for a new company and his health benefits had not yet started.  He is unable to work and to be cared for.
I chose this picture of him, as simply raising his arm is something he cannot do now.
Jerrod became a certified firefighter at 18 years of age while still in high school.  He went on to become an EMT, then a paramedic.  From a young adult he has been helping people on their worst of days, I am asking for help for him during the worst days of his life.
I hope this never happpens to you or your family, I am heart broken it is happening to mine.
Thank you!
