Let's Help Missy Fight Cancer!!

Thank you for taking a moment to read about our dear friend Missy Godinez’s fight with pancreatic cancer and how we can help the Godinez continue to fight.

On Dec 26 2014, the Godinez family would begin the harrowing journey of fighting pancreatic cancer. Missy has gone through 5 months of chemo as well as 28 days of radiation to help shrink the tumor. After all of this treatment the tumor has failed to shrink, so Missy and her family are taking the fight to Baltimore, Maryland to the John Hopkins Hospital. Friends and family, this is where we come in. We all know what a financial burden fighting cancer can put on a families resources. Our friends the Godinez need our help in easing this burden. Missy and her family in the next few weeks will be traveling to Baltimore to have surgery on the tumor called the Whipple Procedure. This is a VERY serious procedure that is equivalent in severity to a triple bypass surgery. The hospital stay will be 7-10 days, along with 2 months of recovery. There is also the possibility of further chemo following the surgery. The expenses that they are incurring are coming fast and furious and they include things like airfare for immediate family, housing expenses for at least a 3 week stay in Baltimore and expenses that insurance will not be covering because they are having to travel out of state.
