I'll say it up front and most that know me well will say it's true; I don't like to ask for help. As much promotion I do online for the things I'm involved in, I don't do much about myself.
I ended up in the hospital earlier this year for emergency surgery that took me out of commission for a couple of weeks. Insurance covered a large chunk of it, but I've got $1300 that needs to be paid in two weeks time. While I've been doing the online site/writing gig since 1998, times have gotten tough and I'm lucky to pull $1000 a month, which doesn't cover my expenses to begin with, never mind a sizable burden like this.
So, I'm doing the rare, humbling, embarrassing and self-saddening thing of asking if anyone can help with a few bucks to help ease this burden.
