Clubfoot Corrections

Donation protected

A clubfoot, is a deformity from birth where one or both of their feet grows inward, causing the child to literally walk (if they can) on the tops of their ankles. If the condition is left untreated, severe lifelong disability follows and is usually coupled with begging on the streets for a lifetime. Correction for clubfoot is relatively easy and quite inexpensive. A total correction will give a child a completely different future and one that is filled with walking, running, playing and ultimately staying off the streets to get an education and become a working member of their community, and a benefit to their family! We have identified three children that are in need of correction so they will be able to walk and lead normal, productive lives. Please see the photo in the profile to see each child that is waiting.

YOU can help bring a corrective club foot procedure to a waiting child. When you give to Mending Kids, you are partnering with us to make sure these children receive the surgery they need to get ready for school and have a healthy and bright future!

The children below are currently in various hospitals around the world, along with other chilren waiting for your help .

Manuel – Malawi
Manuel’s mother knew nothing of clubfoot and over time she built up courage to understand what it meant for her baby son, and is hopeful for the surgery to happen soon. Children such as Manuel are not able to care for themselves, and have a hard time going to school, working, and often do not marry. This leaves a tremendous burden on the parents to provide extensive caregiving and sometimes abandonment. Don’t let that happen to Manuel, he deserves better!

Amier – Philippines
Amier short for Amierrzham, already started his first procedure for bilateral club foot (both feet turned in) and is now wearing braces 23 hours a day, for the next 3 months. Using the “Ponseti Method” of clubfoot correction through a series of casting and recasting the feet until surgery, Amierm has a 98% success rate at being completely healed. Help make sure Amierm continues to receive the care and surgery he needs.

Leul – Ethiopia
Leul, is one of 100,000 babies that are born with clubfoot worldwide. Early detection and treatment will significantly reduce the casting and surgical correction he will need and at a younger age, he will learn to walk and thrive. Help Leul get the surgery now so he is ready for pre-school someday soon and isn’t labeled with a disability, but with lots of abilities!

If you can't decide, donate any amount to all three and other children waiting!

*Corrective orthopedic procedures cost $400 on average per patient. Suggested donation of $35 would be greatly appreciated.

Please indicate in the comments section which children you are willing to help complete their clubfoot reconstruction.
