Roat's Stroke Fund
Donation protected
This page is for Harry and Dale Roat, father and son. Harry is 87 years old, and my sister, Janell's Beepaw. Dale is 63, and her dad. Harry has had 5 mini strokes in the past 2 years and is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's, which is a disease of the brain where you lose your memory. Dale went into early retirement to be able to stay home and be his father's caregiver. Recently, on May 13, 2015, Dale was at home, had a massive stroke, and laid there for 40 minutes before he was found. As of today (5/21/15), they have not been able to stop or control the bleeding in his head which now requires drainage tubes. He is currently on antibiotics for pneumonia, and even with multiple forms of pain relievers, the hospital has not been able to bring his fever down. Dale has remained in a heavily sedated state.
Dale is an avid music lover. He is an active member of the Blues Society. Dale has been giving drums lessons at Forte Music in Harrisburg for 40 years. Not only does he teach regular lessons, but Dale has reached out to children with disabilities and offers musical therapy.
This donation page is to help raise money for their medical bills, purchasing, and installing a handicap ramp at their home.
