As many of you are aware, our mother and father were involved in a severe motorcycle accident on April 11th at Grange Hall Road and Mackey Road in Holly, Michigan.
Sadly, the driver of the automobile said she failed to yield and did not see our mother and father. Our mother suffered a crushed sternum, collapsed lung and broken ribs, clavicle, scapula and pelvis. She has had two major surgeries to repair her scapula and clavicle and is now at home with 24 hour care. Our father suffered a broken arm, 3 vertabraes and sadly, severe head trauma. Our father was in a coma and has been transferred to a brain rehabilitation hospital until he is able to function well enough for in home care. We know our father would never ask for anything but, given the extreme circumstances, we think he would forgive us for asking.
Many of you know our parents, Tom and Cathy. Our father has done honest work for thousands of
people over the years and has touched many lives. He was the kind of man that would drop whatever
he was doing to help others. Even when our parents were struggling themselves, they always found a way to give to reach out to others.
Unfortunately our parents can no longer work, and do not have the financial stability to make ends meet. To make matters worse, although the insurance covers the medical portion, there will not be enough to cover their basic needs. It is currently unaffordable for our mother to pay for transportation to visit our father. We graciously ask for your prayers and, if you can find it in your heart to help in any way possible, it would be greatly appreciated. Anything you are able to give will help them tremendously.
