Chicago Midwife Needs Your Help

Tera Martin, CNM, longtime provider of homebirth services and more recently on staff at Illinois’ first free-standing birth center, needs assistance. Yesterday, she and her roommate, Keighty, lost most of their possessions in an apartment fire. Almost everything is either fire, smoke or water-damaged beyond use. We are asking for donations to help begin their recovery.

Because they will be staying with friends for a time, household donations are not needed at the moment, but gift cards or donations to this gofundme account will go a long way to helping restore their their immediate needs, as well as replace damaged electronics and eventually replace needed household items. In addition, donations will assist Tera with veterinary bills for her dog, who was present during the fire and whose prognosis is not yet clear.

Tera has spent the last 5 years working with countless Chicago-area families, offering support during one of the most intimate moments of their lives, giving of herself tremendously. Please join me in offering her the support she needs now.
