You Can Fund Our Summer Assistant

This year leading up to Soulumination’s 10th Anniversary has been the busiest in our history.  I could not be more thankful or proud of how things are going.  In our group of amazing volunteers one young woman has stood out and has expressed a desire to continue her work with us thru the summer.  Annie’s work ethic and skills are a perfect match for Soul and she has proven value.  I have never had a more focused or dedicated high school volunteer and we have had some gems.  We are hopeful that donors like yourself might be willing to help us fund her thru this summer at the minimum wage rate of $11.00 per hour.  I believe in impowering young women and this one is truly worth supporting.  We will need a total of $2160 which was not included in our operating budget.  We have projects that we have set up for her including selecting and printing a prayer flag with the face of each and every released Soul child and adult, which is around 1,200 at this time plus she will be helping sort our files while completing this project as we are moving to building a much more comprehensive and easily accessable data base.  She is a careful and skillful crafts person so she will be helping create product to sell at the Artist Sale and the 10th Anniversay.  Your help to specifically fund Annie’s work would be so appreciated.  You can give here to help make this summer very productive for Soulumination.  In love, peace and gratitude, Lynette



My name is Annie Gentino. I am a student at Ballard High School and I am currently finishing up my sophomore year. I play soccer for Ballard in the fall and I am a part of Ballard Unified Soccer in the spring, which is run through Special Olympics. Aside from sports, I am very interested in the arts.

I began volunteering at Soulumination in November of 2014 and I volunteer there every week.  I have really enjoyed my time there and I have learned a lot about very devastating situations that families are facing. I love knowing that I am able to help these families and I have become a better person in the process.

This summer I will be 16 and in search of a job. Lynette has brainstormed with me about a wonderful opportunity where I would do an internship at Soulumination. I would be working on some specific projects that she had in mind. In order to do so, I would need to raise $2160.
