Serving in Honduras

Last year I was blessed with the most amazing opportunity of my life. I dedicated five months to a missions program with Youth With A Mission, or YWAM, and visited six different countries all over the world. While visiting Guatemala, Hungary, France, South Africa, Nepal, and Hong Kong, my outreach team was able to bring food to the homeless, run kid's clubs for children living in slums, teach in remote villages, bring healing in the name of Jesus, pray and worship with all kinds people, just generally serve the long term missionaries and their ministries in each country however needed (even if that meant digging trenches or cleaning toilets), and of course, above all, simply LOVE OTHERS! If you want to read more about this adventure, please visit: karatechoppingandscubadivingwithgod.blogspot.com

Since returning home, I have tried to get involved with as many things as possible in order to share what God taught me on my missions trip with others! I am a small group leader at my church for the high school students, twice a month I volunteer downtown at the Salvation Army and God's Extended Hand, I have been able to go on a few outreach trips down to Mexico with my church, and I even started my own ministry that is all about weekly love actions or random acts of kindness, that you can check out here: flowerchildministries.wordpress.com

Now another missions opportunity has come up and I am so excited to be a part of it! Every year my church takes a group of high school students and other members of the congregation down to Honduras for a week. Our main goal is to minister alongside Iglesia Christo Centro and a team of Pastors in Rio Blanco, a make shift village. Spiritually, we will extend Jesus’ love by serving and loving others through words and deeds. Practically, we will organize a medical brigade in order to provide health care and medicines, offer a Vacation Bible School to the children at Christo Centro and the local hospital, organize sports activities, and improve infrastructure around Rio Blanco.

This is an opportunity to not only use my skills to serve the people of Honduras, but also to be a leader to the high school students from my church by sharing the experiences I have from and the love I have of missions.

Anything you can give is SO appreciated, whether that be prayer or financial support. If you have any questions, if you wish to sign-up for updates, or if you just want to chat, I would love to hear from you!

Thank you so, so much and have an amazing day! God Bless!
