For over 72 years, The Concord Toy Shop has been known and respected for its philosophy – that toys are serious business when it comes to the value of play! The store is an inviting, lively, friendly, and old fashioned shopping experience in downtown Concord for generations of kids, their parents, and their grandparents!
A few months ago, a new landlord levied an unjustified bill against the owner of the Toy Shop for over $80,000 - and refuses to renew the store's lease until this is paid. The bill is based on phony costs, including a $45,000 charge for the installation of smoke detectors throughout the building. These, among others, are not the responsibility of the tenants to pay - so they are fighting back.
