The Numina Center for Spirituality & the Arts is partnering with the Sebastopol Center for the Arts to present the first Sonoma County Cuban Film Festival on July 24-25, 2015. This is a time of historic openings between the US and Cuba, and we believe the bridge that we can help build is based on the Arts. Your donations to here are to Numina, and they are Tax-Deductible.
Any donation of $20 or more gets you in to the Friday Private Opening Night Reception for sponsors, donors and Festival pass holders. Catering by Peter Lowell's. Music by Marcos Pereda. Director Alfredo Ureta will attend.
Any donation of $200 or more gets you a Festival Pass for all Sebastopol Center for the Arts films and events, including the Friday night reception, and the Saturday night Closing Party.
We have obtained the rights to five newer Cuban films, and we will be bringing Director Alfredo Ureta from Cuba! Our films are about how the common people in Cuba live their lives. They include "Chico & Rita," "Viva Cuba," "Juan of the Dead," "La Guarida del Topo." and "Conducta." Several short films, too. You can find an article about us in the July Sonoma County Gazette, in print and online.
Saturday's Festival Closing Party features music by Carlitos Medrano & Sabor De Mi Cuba. Catering by Sol Food. Wines at both event provided by Engracia Wine.
All of the films and events will occur at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts. We're also showing two films at the Sonoma Film Institute on the SSU campus, and one film sponsored by the Alexander Valley Film Society at the Clover Theater in Cloverdale.
