Do Not Feed The Models

“No guts no Glory”

Do Not Feed The Models is my idea to have one last modeling adventure showing that just because your diagnosed with a disease or life altering event doesn't mean that you should stop living life. My goal is to "Make something fun and beautiful out of something painful and ugly."

I was diagnosed with the more chronic version of F.A.P. (Familial Adenomatous Polyposis) this is a genetic condition that I inherited from my mother. (For those of you who've known me for years, know exactly how painful it was for me watching my own mother fall apart with this.)

My latest follow up I discovered that not only they removed a dozen polyps from my colon, but also it turns out that I have over a hundred more. My doctor only removed the largest ones during this last procedure. All of the ones removed were cancer free; though three of them showed signs of if given more time to grow would eventually develop into cancer.

I was given the choice two weeks ago to immediately set up surgery to remove my entire colon or wait six months and undergo another colonoscopy/endoscopy. After talking to my doctor and going over options, I chose six months. My doctor recommends that because of the version I have, I chose to have my colon removed sooner than later and is pushing no later than a year.

In six months, if I have less than 20 large polyps and none of them show signs of cancer, I will be given another six months. If not, I will be setting up to have a procedure called an Ileal.

An Ileal is a procedure that will remove my entire colon and attach my small intestine to my rectum, making a small portion of my small intestine into a makeshift colon if you will. So more than 20 large polyps ANY signs of cancer, it is do not pass go, do not collect $200 dollars...

Due to my work and financial situation, especially after losing so much work due to medical procedures doctor visits and chronic pain over the last year, things are VERY tight. This is why I chose to start this GoFundMe page. It will help give me more time to crawl a little financially out of the hole and start trying to save up and raise money for the 6-8 weeks of required healing and the 2-3 months out of work I will be out of from this procedure. Once I have the procedure a few more options will begin to open up, but unfortunately, at this stage... they are currently not available to me.

Though this procedure will not stop me from working on music or creating art, etc. I will be forced to retire from modeling. Not trying to be crude, but I will be essentially gutted like a fish. So I'm working on a few modeling tours right now with some of my modeling friends to go out with a big blaze of glory. This way, with my medical issues, I'm not traveling alone.

I've made it forty years on this rock filled with a lot of fun and love filled with some amazing people in my life. And though this chapter of this book is finishing up, my story is far from over and I really do plan on doing something with this.

I'm beginning to really start facing this and accepting things properly. I am beginning to take full command over my part of this situation and I'm determined that I am going to be okay.

 Thank you all in advance.
