Lauren's ISLP tuition

My name is Lauren Ziessler. I am a full time mother, wife and student. I currently attend West Hills College in Lemoore California. A couple years ago I was given the opportunity to bring the National Honors Society to our campus. After a lot of love and a lot of labor the awesome admin and I were successful.  I am now the interim president and have been extremely grateful for the recognition the society has provided me. 

Recently, I received an amazing opportunity because of my membership with PTK. The International Scholar Laureate Program has invited me to attend a Delegation on Nursing and Healthcare at two amazing facilities. During my time there I will get the opportunity to become acquainted with various disease specimens and participate in a case study competition. I will be able to meet with top medical professionals and gain some of their wisdom on patient care and other nursing-relative topics. Most importantly, I will be allowed to explore the nurse's role in tropical medicine and research in emerging diseases. 

In addition to all of the new medical knowledge, there will be career development workshops which will allow me to determine my goals as a health care professional. The funds raised here will help me to cover the tuition for the week of conferences and training as well as travel expenses.  This truly is a once in a lifetime experience. It means the world to me that I have been selected because of my hard work and leadership skills. I am both honored and grateful.
