Garrett's Road to Nationals Fund

Donation protected
Hi my name is Garrett Haught and I would just like to thank you for taking the time to view my account and read about my journey.

I started lifting weights because I was being bullied for being unpopular and small in stature. I was 13 when I picked up my first dumbell, barbell, and decided to get serious about training. With the help of my parents (for getting me the equipment) and my sister's 22 year old boyfriend at the time, I went from not being able to bench 135lbs to benching 200lbs in 3 months. I was 14 years  old.

Ever since then I have had a great passion for lifting and growing from it, not only physically but becoming mentally and emotionally stronger as well.  However, competing had never crossed my mind.

Fast forward to college, the gym was still my favorite place in the world and I began to make friends who shared my passions and interests in pumping iron. In 2014 a friend of mine asked me to do a physique show with him and I agreed. It was the first show for both of us and we were pretty nervous, not knowing what to expect. I remember thinking to myself, "all of my hardwork is going to pay off, I can finally showcase the years of strict dedication!". My mood declined rapidly however when I found out I made 8th place and would recieve nothing for years of strict dicipline. I vowed to take my training and dieting to the next level, never wanting to taste defeat again.

In March of 2015 I decided to step on stage again at the Phil Heath Classic in Houston, this time determined to win and redeem myself. I ended up placing 1st in my class, and so, became nationally quallified to compete for my IFBB(International Fitness and BodyBuilding) pro card.

I chose to compete in Miami because the date is the furthest away and so, I could save as much as possible to cover the round trip flight, 4 night hotel stay, competitor's fee, and tanning costs. However working at Pizza Hut means I cannot both go to school full time and save up to live my dream and goal of becoming a professional in the sport. I am asking for $1000 to help ease the burden of the expensive flight, hotel, sign-up fee, and tan.

I would like to thank everyone in advance for reading about my life's journey so far. Every donation goes towards helping me to achieve what I've been training this whole time for. Thank you for helping me reach my dream and goal, thank you so much.
