A Garden to Mentor Veterans

This was once a beautiful garden area for older citizens to grow fresh produce they would not have been able to afford otherwise. We want to build on the negative vandalism that took place, and make it even better.
We need your support. We have cleaned the area and secured it, with the generous donated time of an Eagle Scout and other volunteers. Every single garden gate picket has been bolted in place.
The goal is for seniors to work with veterans that are in transitional housing and would otherwise be homeless; to pass on the skills they can then use to grow their own fresh produce. Their housing facility has a food bank on the premises, so the harvests will be split between both facilities.
The veterans that will be participating range in age from mid-20's all the way to a few WWII vets that are over 90. One of whom, along with other seniors, is a Master Gardener.
Both the senior center and the veterans' transitional housing are run by non-profit organizations, and funding for such a project would be impossible without help. Your donation is also tax deductible!
What we are not lacking in is enthusiasm by all who would be involved! All totaled, we would be serving over 50 veterans and well over 150 seniors.
This is a one-time funding request, as the program could then operate on it's own. We need a lot of mulch and many new planters. We have secured donations of plants and seeds.

$10 buys a planter for tomatoes and zucchini, $5 fills it with potting soil.
