Olive Cooke - A Small Thank You

Donation protected
Olive Cooke dedicated her life to raising money for the Royal British Legion. Olive begain selling Poppies in 1938, inspired by her father who served Gallipoli during the First World War. She vowed to continue to sell Poppies after her beloved husband, Leslie Hussey-Yeo was killed at war in 1943.

Olive, 92, has sadly passed way, in circumstances I believe are too sensitive to speculate on. Olive's story is one of inspiration, one of love and devotion and a story that deserves recognition.

I want to raise a little bit of money for Olive, to let her family know that her efforts have not been in vain, that she has made a difference, that her dedication will be remembered. It's the least we can do as a community, to give something back to Olive and maybe give her the final send off she has earned.

Olive is survived by daughter Kathryn, son Del, grandchildren Louise, Kevin, Rhia and Jessica, and great-grandchildren Louis and Aeris. Let's make sure her great-grandchildren don't lose faith in humanity, we are here and we do care!

EVERY penny raised will go to Olive's family.
