HOPE - Supporting Our Homeless

HOPE has been set up to help the homeless community of the North East of England, who have gravitated towards Newcastle City Centre.
Our mission is to mobilise our Outreach with our own HOPE van as soon as we can raise the funds to get it.
Every Saturday night, we take 4 x 6ft tables, 4 x 5 litre flasks for hot water, 2 x 145 litre boxes - one for all the drinks, cups, milk, cream and sugar etc. and the other for all the saucepans, bowls, cooking utensils, dog bowls, first aid kit etc, a stove, gas bottle, boxes and boxes of food, bags and bags of clothes, shoes, sleeping bags, lunch packs to keep our friends going and anything else we can fit into my husbands Mitsubishi.
HOWEVER, we are taking bigger and bigger donations every week - today we have collected 18 x crates of food from Morrisons and 28 x crates of food from Tesco this evening - so much of this is fresh fruit and vegetables as well as bakery items, which all need to be handed out on our Saturday night Outreach.
We desperately need a van!!
If any of our lovely supporters knows about any reliable vans similar to the one shown here, with good service history and a good price - please do message us to let us know.
We need to do some serious fundraising to pay for it, but have already started the HOPE VAN APPEAL.
All the kindness and generosity is truly heartwarming, but the reality is that hard cash will make a massive difference. I understand that so many people would like to help out, but are struggling themselves with low income or high expenditure for their own family and feel that unless they make a substantial donation, it 'won't make a difference'. Please believe me when I tell you that every single penny makes a difference.
The beauty of HOPE is that it is all about working together, making a difference....together, as a team.
One day, somebody you know might be that face huddled in a doorway, perishing cold and hungry. Your friend, your child, or even you - none of us knows what lies ahead, but wouldn't it be wonderful to know that HOPE is out there ready to help?
