On Sunday, May 3, 2015 the Florence Township Fire Department suffered a huge loss : their fire station caught fire burning nearly all gear. In addition, two engines, a tanker, a rescue and a grass truck burned in the fire.
The volunteer fire department is located in the small village of Edon, Ohio. It serves as a backbone of the close-knit community.
Although the department has received donations since the fire, in addition to insurance, the damages will not be covered without the department taking a financial hit.
