Helping Robert w/ medical expenses
Some of you may know my dad as radio host R.J. from years at KTKK and eventually Morning Liberty http://www.morningliberty.com/ To me, and my siblings, he's just dad.
Dad has been really sick for about six years now. It started with a diagnosis of cirrhosis of the liver. Which, we have learned, is caused by a rare genetic condition called A1AD that attacks the liver. As a result, he has also been battling many other symptoms like blood clots in his lungs and legs, fluid painfully filling his abdomen, sleep apnea and just a general difficulty in doing everyday things.
He worked his radio show as long as he was able. But he had to put it to the side in order to take care if his health. He's been disabled and cannot work. His wife, my wonderful step mom Ginia, is working full time stocking shelves at a local grocery store to help take care of things, but the medical expenses make it very tight. And once he gets a new liver, it'll only get tighter as they will need to relocate to have him closer to the hospital in Salt Lake.
Dad is on the transplant list. While he waits, his abdomen fills with fluid leaking from his veins. This is very painful and he's having to have it drained weekly now.
This has been a long road, and we could still use your support if you feel so inclined.
Thank you!
