Barnsley Green Party Election Costs
Donation protected
The Barnsley Green Party was formally founded around February 2015. The Green Surge in January meant that the Greens could stand in far more areas than anticipated and we in Barnsley we're determined to give people the opportunity to vote Green for the first time.
Up against it with a group in it's infancy and with deadlines looming, many of the expenses were paid by members and officers themselves. The costs we incurred were for leaflets, newspapers and of course the £500 deposit.
The campaign had to be threadbare but I as candidate attended all hustings, which were a great success and was met by many saying they would vote for and join the Green Party. Nevertheless, against parties with much more funding, experience and full time campaigning staff, we came 4th out of 7, beating the Liberal Democrats!
We are trying to recoup as much of that as possible as it was a tall order for individuals to pay for. If you can spare anything we would of course be very grateful.
The Barnsley Green Party isn't going anywhere and your donations will allow us to get right back on track and fighting for a better hope in Barnsley.
