This is my Mother's Day gift to my Momma. She is the most incredible Mom I could ever ask for and she is literally everything to me. She has been fighting through life and has been through so many battles, and survived.
Her eyes have become weaker and weaker. As a kid I heard the words "legally blind". She has had very bad eyesight for her entire adult life. Up until recently, she was able to see with contacts. Now she is struggling day by day seeing what is around her.
My sister and I graduated last weekend from USF and due to the vast amount of people in the arena, my Mom was forced to sit far away. She was unable to see very much of our graduation at all. This saddened me, and frustrated me as I sat next to her during my sisters graduation.
This woman is the strongest and most wonderful woman in my life. She raised my sister and I all by herself. Working 16 hour days in the Toyota factories in order to keep us with a roof over our heads. She has dealt with so many horrific situations, and I just want to show her that there is still hope. There is hope for her and her future is bright. Maybe it is dark both visually and mentally, but there is amazingness on the horizon.
She is currently working and her sight hinders her from moving forward. She has goals and aspirations, but her sight holds her back. She is afraid of driving because at times, things are much harder to see; especially at night. She works right under the hourly threshhold that would get her insurance, so this is the only thing I could think of to get her some help.
This GoFundMe will go directly towards the surgery she will need to fix her eyesight. Help my mom see the future. The sunsets, her grandkids, her son and daughters weddings, and all the beautiful things that this world, and people of this world, have in store for her to see.
