Help Me Get Back on the Road and Back to Work I have been homeless for the past five months, and since April 24, I have been staying at a park with my two dogs. With colder weather getting closer, I know this is not something I can continue doing. I also have two young children, ages 5 and 4, and my oldest is preparing to start school. I am doing everything I can to move toward stability instead of remaining stuck in survival mode. Right now, the biggest obstacle between me and getting back to work is transportation. I have delivery work opportunities available to me, including two positions I can pursue and another interview I have been unable to attend because I don’t have a reliable vehicle. I have previous experience working delivery routes, so this is not about trying to figure out what kind of work I can do. I know how to do the work. I need the transportation to get there and sustain it. That is why I am raising funds specifically to get a vehicle. For me, a vehicle would mean much more than transportation. It would give me a way to get to work, earn an income again, handle basic responsibilities, and begin rebuilding my independence. It would also provide a safer and more secure place for me and my dogs while I work toward permanent housing and a more stable situation for my family. Part of what has made getting a dependable vehicle so difficult is my financial history. I have a repossession and a very low credit score, which makes traditional financing much harder and limits the vehicles I can realistically obtain on my own right now. The goal of this fundraiser is to give me enough flexibility to either make a reasonable down payment on a dependable vehicle or purchase a reliable cash car. Funds will be used for the vehicle and the costs necessary to get it legally and safely on the road, including: * Vehicle purchase or down payment * Registration and required fees * Insurance * Gas * Necessary initial repairs or maintenance I do have food assistance through EBT, so this fundraiser is focused primarily on transportation and the stability that transportation can create. If there are funds remaining after getting the vehicle on the road and covering those immediate transportation costs, they will go toward basic necessities such as clothing and dog food. I am not asking for a luxury vehicle or anything beyond what I need to get moving again. I am asking for an opportunity to take the first major step out of survival mode, return to work, and begin rebuilding my life. I have tried to find help, and I have reached a point where I know I need to ask others for help getting past this particular barrier. I don’t want to stay stuck here, and I don’t want to turn to illegal or destructive choices simply because I am desperate. If you are able to donate, thank you. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser can be just as meaningful because it may put it in front of someone who is able to help. I will provide updates as the fundraiser progresses and be transparent about how the funds are used. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for helping me take a step toward work, stability, and a better situation for my family and my dogs.
