My name is Jemille, and I am creating this fundraiser to help me stay housed after an incredibly difficult year. Last year, I lost my job because of the Los Angeles wildfires. During that time, I fell behind on rent, medical bills, and applied for wildfire-related rental assistance. I am still trying to get clear answers about the status of that application and the balance my apartment complex says I owe. Since returning to work, I have been doing everything I can to catch up and make consistent payments. However, my leasing office is now claiming a much larger balance than I understood, including older charges that I am actively disputing and trying to have reviewed. Right now, I am working to prevent losing my home while I contact housing agencies, gather payment records, and try to correct any missing payments or errors on my account. Funds raised will help cover urgent rent and housing-related expenses while this is being resolved, giving me the breathing room to stabilize and remain housed. Any amount helps.
