Nick's Medical Fund

Hi there. My name is Nick Barson. I'm a full-time Skydiving Instructor and overall altitude enthusiast. On Sunday May 3rd, several unlucky things all aligned at the same time, resulting in me severely breaking my right leg (to the tune of 5 full breaks and multiple other fractures of the right tib/fib). I spent 2 days in ICU as they stabilized the breaks and installed an external fixator. I am scheduled to go back for my 2nd (and with any luck last) surgery to have some titanium hardware installed on or around May 13.
As everyone knows, the cost of medical procedures is ridiculous, even with insurance, and bills don't stop coming in just because you get hurt. As it stands now, I am completely immobile and unable to work at all. Even the most optimistic estimates don't have me able to walk without a boot and or cane for a minimum of 3 months. I am also told that realistically I am looking at 6-9 months before I can hope to return to my job with any regularity.

In the meantime, I have some plans in place to do some work that is not physically intensive so I can stop the financial bleeding, so to speak, but all of the doctors have told me to plan on being unable to work at all for at least 60 days so I can focus on recovery and physical therapy. Unfortunately, this was my first week working after an unusually lean winter season, making my financial resources virtually non-existent. I am therefore reaching out for some help to cover medical expenses and other incidentals for the next few months while I recover enough to be able to regain some level of independence. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
