Tuba Support Project

Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my page! I am a tuba professor and performer at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. I'm hoping to raise funds to record, produce and release my first studio album.

This is a huge project and will be managed by West Texas A&M University Senior Music Business major, Juan Paiz. This will be Juan's senior project and degree capstone. All recording and production will be conducted at Covenant Studio in Amarillo, TX.

The repertoire I'd like to record includes two new works,  Siderevs Nvncivs  and Laws of Motion, by BJ Brooks, professor of music theory at WTAMU. Siderevs Nvncivs will feature the WT Tuba Quartet (Nate Giffin, Jordan English, John De La Garza and Bruno Gutierrez). I premiered these exciting pieces over the course of the last four years. I have also commissioned a new work for solo tuba by composer Brian Gruben.

I have personally transcribed and arranged several pieces to be recorded. These include the beautiful Intermezzo and Romance by Reinhold Gliere. Standards in the horn repertoire, these two works are also well suited to the tuba. Another new arrangement to be recorded is Franz Haydn's Concerto in C. This monumental work is famous as a concert piece for the cello and will be an outstanding addition to the tuba repertoire. 

Other repertoire includes Cityscapes by Allan Vizzutti. This is a new concerto for tuba and has never been recorded.
