Breast Friends #TrekkingforTracie

Coppafeel is important to my best friend who works tirelessly as a ‘Boobette’, travelling miles and miles up and down the country to help women recognise the signs of breast cancer.

Tracie received her diagnosis two years ago and has since undergone a bilateral (double) mastectomy and has had lymph nodes removed.

My life is going to be changed on July 22nd in ways that I cannot begin to contain my excitement about, all because of my beautiful friend and her unwavering determination to help other women.

Here are the facts:

The types of cancer than Tracie have cannot be cured; it wasn’t caught early enough before it spread.

12% of women with those same types of cancer survive 5 years post diagnosis.

Tracie is two years post diagnosis.

1 in 8 women will receive a breast cancer diagnosis in her lifetime.

I cannot change those facts, no one can, BUT we can all ensure that women check often, report changes immediately and KNOW WHEN SOMETHING ISNT RIGHT.

Breast cancer isn’t always a lump. ANY changes could be indicative, and whilst that niggling concern may be innocent, if it’s not, the earlier it’s caught, the easier it is to treat and manage.

Tracie is an inspiration to so many and proves that living with Cancer doesn’t prevent her from raising awareness and ensuring that women are educated about breast cancer.

I have challenged myself to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity to honour my amazing friend! I will be holding several fundraising events over the next few months in order to maximise the impact this incredible cause has on future survivors.
