Taylen's Leukemia Costs & Expenses.

On August 18th 2015 little Taylen Burden was diagnosed with Child Acute Lymphblastic Luekemia. His Mom and Dad were at home with him when he passed out, rushing tough Taylen to the urgent care near their home in Wheeler. Shortly after their arrival they were rushed to Seaside's ER where they were told his blood count was so low he only had 1/4 of the red blood cells he was supposed to have. Seaside's ER quickly informed Michelle and Jake that they had a special team coming to transport him to Doernbechers at OHSU and that it looked like Cancer. After recieving 5 blood transfusions and 2 platelet transfusions their world was turned upside down as Taylen was given his diagnoses the next day: Leukemia.

Taylen is two years old and braving this diagnosis. He will be on the OHSU campus for the next month, another week on the Oncology Inpatient floor and another 3-4 weeks in the Ronald McDonald house or anything that becomes available. After that they hope that he will get to go home while still recieving treatments with frequent trips to Portland. He will be getting Chemotherapy for the next 6 months and then light treatment for 3 years if everything goes well. He will have to have a Port the whole time.
Tough Taylen has a big family. He has two older brothers and a big sister, and of course his Mother and Father who work so hard to take care of their family. While Taylen is going through treatment, the family will need some extra help financially. Michelle and Jake are going to be there with their baby boy through every step of the way, which is wonderful, but also can cause much financial strain on them. While helping Taylen fight, we don't want them stressing or struggling with any financial burden, as they should be able to focus on their son getting better and being with him every step of the way. Coming from small communities everyone has been so supportive and asking if there is anything they can do and this is where we all turn into a family instead of a community. Any donation, even a dollar helps them more than you could imagine right now. They have a long journey ahead of them and if you can't donate please just pray for Taylen and keep them in your thoughts. Michelle and Jake are so overwhelmed with all the love and support that they have recieved and they Thank everyone that has reached out to them. Along with this being where you can make donations, Michelle (Or I will if she is busy with our little fighter) will keep everyone updated with Taylens progress.
