Plasmapheresis Funding

Donation protected

After 14 years of dialysis I finally received a kidney transplant in February of 2014, through the kind heart of my sister-in-law. As we all know, everything is in God’s hands, and two weeks after the transplant, I was forced to start Plasmapheresis treatments. The reason for the Plasmapheresis is because my body ended up producing an antibody called "Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis" (FSGS). Basically, FSGS clogs up the fibers inside the kidney until it can no longer function and the kidney dies. The doctors believe the FSGS is what took out my kidneys in the first place, but we will never know what the original cause of my kidney failure was. Because of the multiple trips per month to Seattle, the repeat hospital stays to figure out what is causing my kidney to fail, the cost of the Plasmapheresis treatments, and how costly the anti-rejection medication is, I’ve had to resort to outside resources to fund the mounting costs of surviving this traumatic disease. It is with a heavy heart that I ask my beloved friends and family to help me fund my ongoing treatments to continue on my journey of healing.

Unfortunately, we are unsure of how long I will have to do these Plasmapheresis treatments because we have no idea of what this FSGS disease is capable of or if there is a way to beat it. Our hopes are that eventually I will no longer need any treatments of any kind, but, like I said earlier, it’s all in God’s hands. I want to thank you for your time and donations. And I ask for prayers so that I can continue on this path that God has set out for me with high hopes and a positive outlook.
