Tilly's Autism Assistance Dog Fund

Donation protected
I first heard about autism service dogs 2 years ago. Since then, I have been absolutely convinced that this would be an incredible help for our daughter Tilly to finally be able to participate fully in the life that her peers enjoy.
The reason we started a GoFundMe account is because her psychologist and OT also agreed with this. Unfortunately, in WA there is no funding available to assist people with Autism who need this therapy, so our only option was to start this account.
Tilly is 11 and was diagnosed with Autism 3 years ago, so we missed a lot of the early intervention therapy available. she also has sensory processing disorder and is hypermobile this means that life can sometimes be complicated and overwhelming for her. Everyday tasks that people take for granted can often be a struggle. But it’s not for me to say why a service dog would assist Tilly it’s up to Tilly.

“This is written by an 11-year-old girl with autism. I have been selling lots of my toys and saving my pocket money and so far, I have raised $400, but I need another $9,600 to buy and train a service dog. I have done lots of research into types of dogs, animal care and training, and have spoken to a specialist service dog trainer who can help me. So please can you help me raise the money for the one thing that could change my life for the better. The reasons I want a service dog are that when I suffer from an anxiety attack or am at risk of a sensory meltdown it would help me calm down and control myself. Helping me to focus and slow down my anger or sadness. It will help me realise that even though I’m different I’m still a person and need to be treated like normal people, and if I have the support of a service dog I can act and control myself like a normal person. Dogs help to calm me down, so does music and computer games but obviously in the middle of class I can’t just listen to music or start gaming, whereas I have asked my school and they will consider service dogs in class. But mainly it can help me remind me of who I am and will help me stand strong!”

So please can I ask that for just one day you go without your morning coffee and instead donate the money to help us achieve Tilly’s goal of bringing her dog home. And help us provide Tilly with an easier, more balanced and self-determined life.
Thankyou
