Refillable Water Stations

Donation protected

Colleges, workplaces, and some highschools all around the country are installing "hydration stations" to increase hydration and decrease the environmental impact of single-use water bottles. Hydration stations replace water fountains and provide a place for students to refill their reusable water bottles. A recent survey shows that NWR students do not drink enough water. The survey also showed that students do not have an accomodating fountain to refill the bottles they bring to school. When asked if they would use hydration stations, students and staff gave an overwhelmingly positive response - 94% of them would benefit. Help the team  working on this project, The Water Bears, get hydration stations installed!Pitch in to help North Warren and the Earth!

The Water Bears are a team of five students from North Warren Regional High School that are dedicated to making a difference within their school and community. Danielle Pergola, Kelsey Yarzab, Cole Palatini, Zack Cullen, Julia Wetzel and faculty advisor, Jennifer Trezza are working on a proposal for the 2016 Lexus ECO Challenge. The ECO Challenge offers prize money to promote environmental projects in high schools. The Water Bears want to raise money on their own for this project. While the prize money will help them install 2-3 hydration stations, we want to fund one on our own.

Thank you to all contributors! Contributors will be acknowledged on a plaque displayed near our first refillable water station.
