The Journey of 1,000 Miles

All my life I have dreamed to see the world. I was told I couldn't. I created a bucket list to stay on the right path towards self fulfillment.


My next journey on my bucket list is from Texas to France and on to Spain. How? By walking 1,000 miles from Le Puy en Velay, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Then, on to Finisterre and Muxia, and back to Santiago. It is the Camino de Santiago, a Christian pilgrimage that many have walked, biked, and rode their horses and even donkeys down. It will take approximately 70+ days and I'll carry everything I need on my back. My destination is the Cathedral in Santiago where Saint James' remains are said to be. It is a journey of faith and determination.


I will walk this Camino to find a part of myself that I have yet to meet, to gain knowledge that only life itself can teach me with a hands on experience, to meet people from all over the world and hear and share their stories, and to show my children that anything is possible.


Funds will pay for emergencies, allergy alert bracelets, boots, socks, warm clothes, daily food, a bed, and other necessities.


I will also be writing about my journey on my blog as I walk and I will try to keep a "vlog" on YouTube for everyone to follow.
