Hi, I'm Jason. I have a friend who is a truly remarkable person. Her name is Kat. For the last few years Kat has had a wonderful and spirtual dream of opening an equine therapeutic riding center for reaching out to children, teens, individuals, families and horses in need to connect with nature, love and themselves to heal and strengthen the mind, body and spirit.
She has put tremendous amounts of effort into making this dream a reality, but she needs help. That is why I decided today to make this GoFundMe page, to tell her story to the world and hope to raise money for this great and healing venture.
She has named her organziation "The Dance", or more formally The Dance Equine Therapeutic Center, Inc. She has done the leg work to incorporate into a non profit organization and now has the 501(c)(3) non profit status with the IRS so that all donations will be fully tax deductible by anyone who contributes.
But that is as far as she has gotten to date. She is still seeking land in the Ithaca, NY/Finger Lakes area either be donation, lease, or purchase. Securing stable land is the most important first step. Then comes building the riding center and getting it operational. When we have the money to build it, that will be the exciting part, and the operational side will be fantastic problems to have.
As an IT guy, I had the skills to I help Kat so far with building her website, setting up paypal for donations, and generally all other IT related things. Including setting up this GoFundMe page, which is going to be my surprise to her.
