WHAT’S "CROSSROADS" ABOUT?

A humane Mexican attempts to smuggle cocaine across the U.S. border to support his family but to do so he has to destroy the lives of innocent others

.
SYNOPSIS

On the first day of class, three college students devour a bag of cocaine while contemplating the meaning of the human existence. However, the harsh realities of life mercilessly hit them head-on when one of the students overdoses. This devastatingly fatal turn sets the story into motion for the unbelievable strain of events to happen next.

We are thrown into the brutally honest story of Javier, a generous and good-hearted Mexican who embarks on a mission to smuggle cocaine across the US border. Limited on options to support his family, he journeys on this dangerous quest. Except, he soon finds himself full of fear and regret when he is stopped at a rural border checkpoint. Engulfed in an utter panic, Javier beings to pray that the Border Patrol Agents will not find the contraband. At the last second, right before the drugs are discovered, a surprise twist of events happens that will forever alter the future of Javier and the Chief Border Patrol Agent.

Throughout Crossroads, we find that Javier’s drugs affect others from completely different races, religions, and financial backgrounds. We see the impact of cocaine on a user, dealer, and political aspect. Best of all we see it in a way you would never expect.

THE MESSAGE

Crossroads is a film about how everyday we are forced to make difficult decisions that greatly alter the lives of family, friends and strangers. Often times we find ourselves in challenging situations where there may not be a right answer. You never think it could possibly happen to you until you look up and you’re in way over your head.

The choices we make in trying times immensely test our core beliefs and morals. Forced into a perplexing circumstance your decision may have a residual effect on strangers of a different race religion and sex . Frequently there is a karmic reaction to our choices that raises the question; is there more to life than pure coincidence?
