My name is Andrew Preston and I'm the artistic director and founder of The Actors Project. Our theatre company has been providing FREE theatre to at-need elementary schools throughout Los Angeles for the past 5 years. Yup! It's our five year anniversary! We received our Non Profit status this year (with the help of you!), so any donations you make will be tax deductible!

What schools are saying!

Where do the donations go to? All donations go towards creating the best productions possible for schools and communites. We have quite a few productions lined up our anniversary. First up we have a special remount production of The Hare Who Cried Ant that will be touring the children's hospitals in and around the Los Angeles area. In the fall we'll be having a five year anniversary show that is currently being written by our past production writers. Donations will help expand our theatre company to provide theatre and arts eduction to more schools and families.


Families? Yes! One of our planned productions that we would love to do falls under our The Actors Project's Plays After Dark (P. A. D. ) series. These productions cater to the communities that wouldn't normally see theatre from kids, teens, and adults. Our productions will let the audience experience something that will change they way they think of theatre. Our P. A. D.  series goal is to get kids, teens, and families to the theatre to witness something amazing and encourage them to view theatre as a more mainstream form of entertainment.


Donations will expand our current arts education tours by creating productions catered to middle schools. As many of the students that have see our productions are moving on to middle schools we want to continue their love of theatre with our productions. Our style and aproach of our plays will help further encourage their pursuits in theatre 


Another project we have planned will help us reach an even wider audience. No matter how many schools we travel to, there will many that will never experience one of our productions. How will we reach out to all these other schools? Our plan is to bring back the plays from our past in film form! These films will reach schools that never see the unique creative visions that The Actors Project puts on. These films will present our plays in a motion picture format that will recapture the student's imagination and see the plays they might have already seen in a whole new medium.  In the many letters that we receive students have also expressed how much they would love to see our shows again! These films will allow them visit our any of our past adventures anytime they want, all the while bringing some new fans to The Actors Project. 


I love to tell schools that our touring productions are free and with your help and support we can do that! We can bring even more students bigger productions that will help them experience theatre like never before! As you can see we have many ideas in development that will expand The Actors Project. My imagination is pretty much limitless in what I have planned in the future. If you love theatre and want kids, teens, and communities to experience it, donate! With your help we can change the way people who have never seen or view theatre as something uninteresting to come to love it! I love theatre and I want to bring it to those that never get to experience it, or have a predetermined mindset of what it is. The great thing about theatre is that it's whatever we make of it. Do we keep it the same or do we change it? I want to show those that don't experience theatre that it can be a form mainstream entertainment.
