The Road Warrior Sculpture

Tax deductible

The Oldham County History Center in LaGrange, Kentucky, is raising funds for The Road Warrior Sculpture: this sculpture depicts WWII Marine Veteran Dr. E. Bruce Heilman on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

In 2013, at age 86, Bruce Heilman began riding his Marine issue Harley Davidson motorcycle across the United States to raise awareness of the sacrifices of WWII Veterans and Gold Star families.  Today, at age 91, and as National Spokesperson for the Greatest Generation Foundation, Bruce still travels across the United States and around the world to bring attention to veterans and their sacrifices for democracy.

The Road Warrior Sculpture, created by Wyatt Gragg, depicts Bruce on his Harley. The interactive sculpture invites participants to “hop on” and take a ride with Bruce!

This sculpture compliments the WWII Exhibit at the Oldham County History Center campus.  The Center displays artifacts from local WWII veterans and has conducted close to 100 oral history interviews on WWII veterans as a part of the Veterans Oral History Project.   Dr. Heilman is a native of Oldham County and we are honored to present this sculpture as a tribute to so many who have sacrificed so much in honor of our democracy.

The sculpture is $200,000; we currently have raised $50,000
