Emergency Surgery for Emerson

Donation protected
A few days ago Emme got into a trash can after a housesitter accidentally left a bathroom door open.  It was an innocent accident, but it has caused a lot of major problems.

The short of it is, after several days of various treatments and tests and abdominal pain, we've learned that she has a piece of string (a linear foreign body as they're calling it) stuck in her small intestine. It's causing it to bunch up like an accordian, and the doctors tell me that it'll perforate her small intestine and kill her within a few days, if she doesn't get surgery.

Total cost so far between all the treatment and diagnosing that it took to get us to this point, the ultrasound, and the surgery is somewhere between $4500 and $5000.

She's 12 years old and otherwise healthy and energetic, and we've had her since she was 2 months old.  I couldn't bear the thought of just taking her home and waiting for her to die, so I sent her in for surgery, and they start in a few hours.

A few times a year I send a few dollars to other Boston Terrier owners who have asked the internet for help, and I never thought I'd be doing this, but here I am, hoping that the generosity of strangers can help me shoulder the costs of saving her life.

Assuming (hoping) no more complications, I'm going to be about $5000 in the hole on this - any little bit would help and be eternally appreciated.

Thanks so much for looking!
