ABBY - Old English Sheepdog Rescue
Donation protected
Abby is a sweet and bubbly 10-year-old "Old English sheepdog". Abby is one of two dogs surrendered to our rescue by her owner, who was no longer able to care for her. During a routine veterinarian check, it was discovered that Abby had a lump the size of a golf ball on her front leg. The lump was suspected to be cancerous, and surgery is needed to remove it before it could spread. Abby's surgery was scheduled for April 27, 2015. A few days before Abby's surgery we noticed a small open wound on Abby's back leg. It immediately started to swell and she began limping. She was taken to the vet and it appears Abby was bitten by a recluse spider. The vet put her on the highest dose of antibiotics a dog can be put on and her surgery was postponed due to the infection from the spider bite.
