Squish's story: About 9 years ago I got a call from a friend at the Oakland Animal Shelter to "Come pick up this squish-faced cat!" She was very thin and had a horrible URI. I wasn't sure she was going to make it and would sit with her for hours at her food bowl petting her and encouraging her to eat. Despite being in bad shape, she was very curious and full of sass. After fostering he for two weeks, I had fallen head over heels for this spunky tortie boss. Her health improved and she's been my best friend for the last nine years. These days she loves to give nuzzles, boss Duffy around and sleep on her heating pad. She's one of a kind, full of tortitude and love!
