I pray all is well with you. Sorry we have not posted we have had so much going. Just wanted to let you know Hailey had her scans on Monday and they had found 3 spots after her last surgery in August. They were trying to give them time to grow so they can react to them. Well the spots have not not grown so Hailey remains CANCER FREE. They have her on a 3 month plan where she will go in for lab work and to have her scans checked. Dr's warned us that if it was to come back it would happen within the first 2 years but we are claiming COMPLETE HEALING over her life. Hailey has been is school for about 40 days and she is doing great and loving it. The doctors are saying she will be able to get her port out after Thanksgiving so thats great. Now she is trying to see if she can start cheerleading or swim lessons. Hailey is to much. Thanks for all the love and support you have given us. Please follow us on Facebook at Princess Hailey Bankhead.
Until next time be blessed

Today was the best day ever. Hailey's day started at 3am and she finally wants to eat ice chips and a few bites of jello since she couldn't eat after surgery . Doctors said the test results would be back on monday. Hailey did physical therapy today and sat in a chair from 2:30 till about 10pm. Well during this time she has been having a hard time drinking and using the bathroom. Haileys has a chest tube that's still draining a lot. So how the day was the best around 530 her doctor comes down on her way home and says I have good and bad news. I said give me the bad she said its gone. I said well when do you Operate on the right side to see what's going on she said were not. I said well you said we will need more chemo she said did you hear what I said IT'S OVER the cancer is gone. I almost had a heart attack. So we will still be in the hospital for a few more days then she will need scans once she is healed . But then she will be on maintenance
Which is just scans to make sure the cancer hasn't come back. We are so grateful to have your love and support during this journey. I will continue to keep you posted on ms hailey
We love you to pieces

Hello friends and family... Just wanted to update you on what's going on with Hailey. Chemo ended on July 19th she was so excited. Scans took place on August 5th. We went in hoping and believing the scans would be clear but there was still some areas that need attention. Hailey will have to undergo surgery on her lungs August 15th. Hailey is not to happy about it but she is in good spirits. There was alot of questions coming from her. So the last few days have been rough for her but I think she will be fine. Her biggest concerns was the tube that goes down her throat the doctor said its not needed for this surgery so that made her feel better. The doctors have given us different things that may go during this time, there may be more surgery or Hailey will be placed back on Chemo. Hailey is supposed to start school next week so she gets to go the first 2 days then she will be pulled out for a few weeks until they know whats next.
We still claiming total healing there was just some additional things that needed to take place to make her PERFECT.....

Oh i forgot Hailey's hair is growing back ;-} Now even though its peach fuzz you cant keep her out the mirror lol she is so funny. Hailey has been praying every night over her self and thanking God for what he has already done.
So i believe that everything is going to work out for the good. Even though some days our rough in our house. Some days we are stressed and dont have the right words but I believe if God didnt want her here for a reason she would not have come this far.

We love you all until next time
Heather

Hailey was diagnosed with Wilms Cancer on January 15, 2013, after visiting a local Children's Health Care Center. Hailey was immediately admitted to Egleston Hospital then Hailey had surgery on January 18th removing her left kidney and Lymph Node. Hailey will start chemo within the next few days to clear the remaining cancer that has spread to her lungs.

Prior to being diagnosed Hailey was such a energetic happy kid. She loves to dance, sing, and model for the childrens department at Belk department store. Hailey attends Church of the Harvest International in Jonesboro, Georgia where she is being taught to be a good servant. We always say she has a big heart she loves to nurture others hurt or in need.  Even after surgery Hailey has not once complained about anything except wanting a chocolate chip cookie. 99.8 % of the time she is running around with a big smile or giving hugs.

Hailey has taught her family alot in this week. She has done everything with a smile even though she is in pain. A few times she would say mommie I am okay. The day she was going into surgery she had the biggest smile on her face and she told the dr's I want a hat so I can look just like you. So they gave it to her, during the time she was in surgery my heart was at peace because she went in smiling and everything was going to be alright as she says. I believe that God is going to use her in a positive way and this is only the beginning.

Through this experience will come the birth of the Hailey Bankhead Foundation which will be used as a vessel to advocate for other families and children who are going through this experience, especially first-time-cancer families as ours. The foundation will provide treatment needs while helping other newly diagnosed cancer patients tools and educational resources so they may better understand the disease and the process. The foundation will also provide counseling to families seeking emotional support. The mission of the foundation is to reach others, teach others, support and be a blessing one child at a time, and family at a time.
