I am a filmmaker who travels with a group of nearly 20 volunteers from across the Philadelphia/Lancaster PA/South Jersey area, including several nurses, a paramedic and a pediatrician. Our group also includes several student volunteers. We are raising money for our next trip leaving on May 18th, less than three weeks away.
Your donations are tax deductible. We collect our money under the umbrella of the Life Connection Mission. All funds are channeled through them, and spent directly on aid projects and salaries for translators, drivers and cooks. Even our meals, lodging and travel expenses are transacted through LCM. As in past years, we are going to conduct mobile health clinics in remote areas, and visit orphanages and a homeless shelter. We are also going to conduct health classes and provide meals and medicine to those in need.
The need in Haiti is endless, and all the money we raise after our travel expenses are paid will go to Haitians in dire need. As in the past, we will be bringing medicine and aid to Haitians at mobile clinics, orphanages and a homeless shelter.

Throughout the year we hold various fundraisers, including making and selling jewelry. Our "Mowi Bead Jewelry" is made from paper scraps recycled and refashioned by Haitian women, who receive income when we buy their beads. The women in our group then create beautiful and unique bracelets, earrings and necklaces from these beads, and sell them to fund future missions, creating a cycle that stimulates the local economy while delivering direct aid to Haiti.

We also pay for our transportation and translators in Haiti, further stimulating the Montrouis economy. We have gotten to know the drivers, translators, cooks and staff at Life Connection Mission, who are proud and hard-working people, committed to making their home a better place. Our mission could not happen without them, and it provides work for the men and women of Montrouis as well as medical and humanitarian benefits. A large portion of the funds we raise will pay their salaries for the week.
Any money left over after our expenses are paid will go towards direct aid in Haiti: buying medicine and food for Haitians in need. Last year, we encountered a boy who lost his leg from an untreated tumor, and a mother whose twins were on the verge of death. Haitians in the remote areas we serve do not have regular access to medical care or even clean drinking water.
In the past we have paid for advanced medical care, transportation to medical facilities, medicine not available in the U.S, and food and water for orphans and homeless people, among other needs. We have also raised funds to build bathrooms, a well and a septic field for the Life Connection Mission School in Montrouis. The need in Haiti is endless and every dollar we raise will go towards improving people's lives in Haiti.
Our group returns to Montrouis in 2016, and we have a lot we wish to accomplish. We will continue to update our campaign throughout the next year, so please bookmark and share our campaign link:
