We are Nepal: Help Nepal Rise!

Donation protected
We, the alumni of UNAOC-EF are running this campaign for a very good friend of ours Bikash Gupta who we met at UNAOC-EF Summer School in New York last year (2014) as he was representing his country, Nepal. Bikash has been greatly affected by the earthquakes but instead of being with his family and making sure he is safe; he is out there helping people and saving lives.

You can go on our website http://wearenepal.net/ to find out more about the campaign and stay up to date with the works of those involved in the area.
All funds raised through this campaign will go to "SEBS: Earthquake Relief Action Project”. SEBS is the Society of Ex-Budhanilkantha Students (Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/sebsonline ) has collaborated with Budha Airlines (Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/buddhaair ) to provide immediate help needed in the affected areas- inaccessible due to landslides. Bikash is an ex-graduate (Class of 2013) at Budhanilkantha School whose alumni from all around the world are gearing up to collaborate and work alongside the director of Budha Airlines, Birendra Bahadur - also an ex graduate of the school - for the relief action plan in different villages in the Sindhupalchowk, a district worse affected and with highest number of casualties (over 2000).

A preliminary survey team from SEBS has already left for site visits to observe, collect data and establish liaison with local organizations and groups. Based on the results of the survey, the project will focus on distributing immediate relief materials in six thematic areas viz. shelter, food, safe drinking water, sanitation, medical supplies and clothing. In the long run the committee will evaluate its resources and potential opportunities to decide on rehabilitation and reconstruction of the villages of the district.

The funds collected will be used in purchasing necessary goods such as medical supplies, tents, sanitary items, water purifiers, blankets, rice, lentils etc as per the daily assessment of the villages’ needs. These supplies will be purchased from the nearest town in India or Nepal and taken to the nearest airport to the district from where Budha Airlines will work to uplift the materials and transfer it to needy villages. SEBS has many of its members in the severely affected areas in Sindhuplachowk who are working round the clock in ensuring the supplies and relief materials go to the hands of victims.

SEBS has been working as a charitable organization (registration number: 55/053/054), since its inception in the year1982. In its history of philanthropic work, SEBS has successfully implemented World Bank funded ‘Doko Dai’ project, a mobile library in Ramche and Maheswora,Sindhupalchowk.
