Don's Medical Expenses

My name is Don,
I graduated from the P.V.P.C Fire Academy in May of 2012 and trained at the Phoenix Fire Department. I really don't like talking about myself or asking for help but have recently stumbled upon a situation where I could use a hand from my community.
I have served the Phoenix area for almost three years when I found out that I have Seminoma, a form of cancer. A devastating blow after experiencing the loss of my father two days prior. At the time, I was with my brother making arrangements for my fathers funeral when I started experiencing severe pain in my abdominal region. Something wasn't right... My brother drove me to the emergency room but the pain was growing worst; the paramedics met us half way to take me to the E.R.
I was admitted for three days when they informed me they had found a baseball sized mass in my lower abdominal region. I have recently under gone surgery at Mayo Clinic, where my insurance will cover up to 50% the procedure. The operation alone is $60,000.00 and the doctors are getting ready to put me through chemo. At this point, I am unable to work and my insurance can only do so much.
Before cancer, I was testing and interviewing with departments across the Phoenix valley and because of my state was unable to interview due to the inability to take a physical fitness test. A job that I had waited a year and a half to just get my foot in the door.... In the near future, I hope to have overcome the obstacles that lay ahead; re-join the fire department and support my mom and family as we mourn the loss of my father
Any and all contributions will help. Thank you so much.
